Entry into the Tourism Rockingham (‘Rockingham - A Community Album’ - ‘the Competition’) signifies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Instructions on how to enter the Competition as well as information contained within promotional material form part of these Terms and Conditions.
1. Entries must be submitted by no later than 11:59 pm on Wednesday, 30 April 2025
2. No late entries will be accepted.
3. Entrants may submit a maximum of five entries in one of the following competition categories: Adult - Open to entrants 25 years and older at the time of submitting entry. Youth - Open to entrants aged 14 to 24 years at the time of submitting entry. Children - Open to entrants aged under 14 years at the time of submitting entry.
4. Prizes will be announced within the coming months.
4. Tourism Rockingham reserves the right to request confirmation of an entrant’s age before awarding prizes.
5. Tourism Rockingham reserves the right not to exhibit any entry depicting illegal activity otherwise deemed unsuitable.
6. Tourism Rockingham reserves the right to select an alternative winner or not award any prize if a winner cannot be contacted or fails to collect their prize within 14 days.
7. Tourism Rockingham reserves the right not to select a winning entry in any of the nomination categories if entries in that category are deemed unsuitable, either due to the quality of entries received or any other reason determined by the judges.
8. Prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
9. Each entry must be accompanied by the online entry form, which is to be submitted via the Tourism Rockingham website: www.rockyphotocomp.com.au
10. Entry forms must include the entrant’s age, full name, address, telephone number and email address. Incomplete entries will be deemed ineligible.
11. Entries must address the theme: Rockingham - A Community Album, which should include images depicting the City of Rockingham's lifestyle, activities, and people.
12. Entry photographs can be taken by any entrant - local or visitor, and the images must be taken within the City of Rockingham, which includes the suburbs of Baldivis, Cooloongup, East Rockingham, Garden Island, Golden Bay, Hillman, Karnup, Peron, Port Kennedy, Rockingham, Safety Bay, Secret Harbour, Shoalwater, Singleton, Waikiki and Warnbro.
13. Entrants must have consent from any person or persons appearing in the photograph submitted. This is especially important if a singular person or group of persons is the key subject. Images taken that don’t particularly identify a person or persons - ie, an image taken of a beach scene with multiple persons would not need permission.
14. Editing of entries by image manipulation software is not permitted. However, entrants may crop, straighten or apply light filtering etc - as available on most basic apps or software. No PhotoShop or similar programs that create layered images can be entered.
15. Entries must be provided in JPEG or PNG format and must be a maximum of 10 MB size.
16. Entrants may be asked for larger file sizes if their image(s) are selected for printing in the book ‘Rockingham - A Community Album’.
17. Entries must be the entrant’s original work. AI-generated images will not be accepted.
18. Entries must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity.
19. Entries in breach of these Terms and Conditions that are unlawful or objectionable content will not be accepted.
20. All entrants RETAIN the copyright of their submitted entries. However, they permit Tourism Rockingham to use some submitted entries for promotional marketing - Facebook and Instagram only - without remuneration, royalties or any other payment. The author of the photograph will be appropriately credited if their image(s) are used. Any other promotional use will require further permission from the photographer, and considered renumeration on discussion.
21. The entrant agrees to have their photographic entries displayed in the Tourism Rockingham 2025 photography exhibition if chosen, as well as possible publication in the book ‘Rockingham - A Community Album’ published later in 2025. The author of the photograph(s) will be appropriately credited.
22. Entrants will be notified using the contact details provided to collect all entries from the Visitors Centre within 2 weeks of the exhibition closing. Entries not collected within this timeframe may be disposed of at Tourism Rockingham's discretion without notice or compensation to the entrant.
23. Tourism Rockingham respects the confidentiality of the entrant’s personal information. Contact details will be securely retained by Tourism Rockingham and may only be used for the purpose of contacting entrants regarding the competition.
24. Competition judges are ineligible to enter.
25. A panel of judges will select the winning entry from each of the three categories.
26. The decision of the judging panel is final, and no correspondence shall be entered into with unsuccessful entrants.
27. The date and venue particulars of the award ceremony will be announced once the competition has closed and finalists will be contacted accordingly.
28. Tourism Rockingham reserves the right in its absolute discretion to cancel the exhibition or the awards presentation or change the venue and/or date of the exhibition or the awards presentation.
29. Tourism Rockingham will not be liable for any claims, liabilities, suits, demands, and causes of action both at law and in equity arising directly or indirectly from an entrant’s participation in this Competition, including claims for personal injury or damage to property howsoever caused.
